2011 Alumni Reunion:
The Extended Care Unit’s 2011 Alumni Reunion was open to Alumni and Partners of our Alumni. It was a weekend full of informative presentations, close friends and a continued dedication to recovery. The entire ECU staff was thrilled to reconnect with so many familiar faces and it was wonderful to receive such positive feedback from all of the alumni. We would like to take this opportunity to commend our alumni on all of their hard work and progress. Alumni from many years past and around the globe showed up for the 2011 Reunion. It was inspiring to see everyone so dedicated to their recovery and with roughly 80 Alumni in attendance, it was an extremely positive, emotional and fulfilling time for us all.
The Event :
The 2011 Alumni Reunion took place April 15 through April 17. A brief introduction by Clinical Director Dr. Mary Deitch kicked off a series of clinical presentations and group discussions. In order to maximize our time together, Alumni were invited to choose between two simultaneous breakout sessions. Each attendee could choose the best session to fulfill their individual needs and their place in the recovery process. The presentations and group sessions ranged from a variety of topics geared towards individuals as well as partners. Many sessions were extremely interactive and filled with our Alumni’s inspiring memories of the past as they began their healing process at the ECU. Moreover, these sessions were filled with the gained clarity of the present and the continued promise of the future.
The Presenters and presentations:
In addition to the wonderful Alumni turnout, the presenters really made the reunion a great success. There was an array of insightful presentations and group breakout sessions to choose from. In addition to the wonderful presentations made by all of the ECU staff, we would like to give a special thanks to all of our guest presenters who offered both their time and expertise to benefit the Alumni. Our guest presenters ranged from a number of colleagues in the field to past staff members of the ECU itself. We invite you to view a full listing of the presentations by clicking the link below:
